An Olympiad beyond Maths
Many subjects, one test
Along with Maths, children meet Science, Geography, History and General Knowledge questions. Older students also explore Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Space and Technology.
Friendly and low-pressure
Round 1 is free and taken at home, so there is no travel and no cost to find out how your child does. Only children who score 15/50 or more move on to the Olympiad.
Who runs it
AtoZ Bits runs the practice and the free test. The Olympiad is offered in partnership with Mental Maths Foundation, which focuses on number sense and mental calculation, with registration through MPE iMMO.
Safe for children
A parent or guardian signs up before the test. We never ask for a child’s email address or phone number.

Tips to do well
Start with mock papers
A little practice each day beats one long session.
Watch the clock
With 50 questions in 10–15 minutes, answer easy ones first and move on from tricky ones.
Read widely
Books, documentaries and everyday questions all help with Science, History and GK.
Set up the space
Choose a quiet spot, charge the device and check the connection first.
Stay calm
It is a free first round. Encourage your child to enjoy it.
Be near, not in the answers
Help with tech if needed, but let your child do the thinking.
